RIGS also meant that the core games are both stand-alone games and expansions for each other. It also means that we needed to develop all of our proposed game systems in tandem, and always to integrate anything new that might come up as we worked. In theory, it sounded like a good way to design a gaming system, but it comes with some difficult choices. We wanted RLU games to be as turnkey as possible. We wanted to create a gaming universe where it was incredibly easy for players to move from one gaming system to the next, or to convert between systems, or to increase game complexity without difficulty. When we first decided to reimagine Renegade Legion, one of our key concepts was easy compatibility between games. The RIGS is the heart and soul of the reimagined Renegade Legion Universe and you’ll soon see why. We call the gaming system that's driving the development of our rules the Renegade Integrated Gaming System, or RIGS for short. As we get deeper into the Patreon we'll explore, in ever greater detail, the ins and outs of every aspect of each game, so hold on and get ready for a deep dive into the reimagined Renegade Legion gaming universe. Welcome to the first rules development post for the reimagined Renegade Legion Universe!Ī brief disclaimer before we begin: This is a light introduction to rules development.
